It is a photographic research carried out in Tokyo during the summer of 2016, through which I tried to highlight the duality and the contrast generated in the act of smoking both in respect and in the denial of the norms and conventions established by Japanese government and community.
Laws of safety and custom prohibiting citizens from smoking in the street and in some public spaces but tolerating their practice in many public places or in specially designated spaces: the Smoking Area (smoking areas).
Tangible and intangible perimeters that delimit portions of life in invisible cages and judgment, pure consumer goods that sometimes dehumanizes relationships while in other cases makes it unique and special.
